2009 Great Lakes MX ATV Championship Series

There are now TWO ATV points series for Great Lakes MX: The ATV Championship series, and the ATV Challenge series. Both series will pay points PER MOTO.

The ATV Championship series has been recrafted for 2009; it will consist of 14 races at 7 tracks. In an effort to have ATV-only events, where quads don't have to race in bike ruts, some of the championship events will be held on Open Riding days (Sundays). Practice will start at 8am for the ATV race, with racing immediately after. The quads will have the track to themselves! When the races are over, Open Riding will start. ATV racers will have the choice of getting home early, or signing up for Open Riding in the afternoon. Tracks will open their gates for ATV racers at 6pm on Saturday so you can spend the night if you'd like. We're always willing to try something new and this idea seemed worthy of a trial. Let us know if you love it, hate it or have any other comments; we'll make the appropriate adjustments in 2010.

In addition to the ATV Championship series, we felt the ATV riders needed a series to run the rest of the year. The ATV Challenge series will run all season long, on days that DO NOT have a Championship round. Not all tracks run ATVs, so make sure you check the schedule below. There will be fewer classes in the ATV Challenge series, but hopefully enough to give quad riders another title to shoot for. The good news is there will be more ATV classes available than in 2008, no matter which series you're racing.

Help us spread the news that YOUTH QUAD RACING IS BACK IN MICHIGAN! Check the class listing for more details.

a regular race day that includes bikes & quads. ATVs are also included on the Saturday before, which will be part of the ATV Challenge series.

(OR) next to track name signifies that the ATV Championship race is held
on the day of an Open Riding event. Most of these days are Sundays; no Saturday race before.
